Core Skills in Events Programme

Forth Valley Social Enterprises CIC in partnership with Stirling Council Youth Services delivered its first training programme in the lead up to Stirling Highland Games.

Founding Director, Matt McGrandles delivered the Core Skills in Events taster programme to 5 young people aged between 16 and 18 from the Forth Valley. The training programme covered topics like customer service, raising funds, marketing and PR, IT and problem solving. All these soft skills are needed in the work place today which employers are looking for in the next generation of employees.

The group was joined by The Provost of Stirling, Mike Robbins on the last day who talked about the opportunitities Stirling has to offer in the events sector to young people wishing to get involved. Stirling boasts a number of key annual events such as Stirling Highland Games and through these opportunities, young people can develop practical skills needed in the work place.
